Cryptography turns Plaintext into Ciphertext
Cryptography protects data confidentiality and integrity but not necessarily availability when done correctly.

Plaintext is unencrypted information. Plaintext is the precursor to ciphertext. It is also the output of decrypting of an encrypted message.
