ChatGPT is a Generative Pre-Trained Transformer artificial intelligence-based chat bot from Open AI. It can engage in conversational English, remember what’s been said in the conversation, can challenge incorrect assumptions, admit mistakes, and do so in an entirely grammatically correct fashion.
As of Jan 2023, ChatGPT is operating at release 3.5 from Open AI. Open AI was initially founded as a non-profit open-source company, but in 2019 with a $1 billion dollar investment from Microsoft who now plans to integrate ChatGPT into its Bing search engine.
ChatGPT has been used to write university level Term Papers, working Python code, and perhaps even Malware.
Elon Must founded Open AI in 2015 and even shared Twitter’s treasure trove of communications database until recently rescinding that access over privacy concerns and the change from non-profit to for-profit enterprise.
“People can easily find themselves the target of AI-generated fake videos, explicit content and propaganda,” said the news site VentureBeat. “This raises concerns about privacy and consent. There is also a looming possibility that people will be out of work once AI can create content in their style with or without their permission.” Source: VentureBeat
