October is National CyberSecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). It is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.

CyberHoot is helping further the mission “to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.

In the middle of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, today is International Credit Union (ICU) Day which celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement. The day is recognized to reflect upon the credit union movement’s history, promote its achievements, recognize the hard work and share member experiences. International Credit Union (ICU) Day has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948 !

So what does this have to do with Cybersecurity Awareness? You may leverage a Credit Union for your home & auto finance needs and when you finally get a new home or car, you can’t wait to get your hands on the keys ! Sadly, Hackers want to get their hands on your keys as well, your USB keys ! So before you pick up those USB keys..today we will take the time to share “The Dangers of Random USB Keys” and DO NOT insert any USB key into your computer unless you own it !
